
Recoleta, one of the most elegant neighborhoods in Buenos Aires is a high class residential and commercial district.
In 1871, due to yellow fever epidemic, many wealthy families established in this area, surrounding the Cemetery.
The Cemetery of Recoleta, founded in XIXth. century by the Recoletos (a religious order) is considered one of the most famous in the world, similar to Père Lachaise in Paris, or Arlington in Washington D.C.
Important celebrities, like Evita and former presidents, writers, artists, are buried in this cemetery.

Beside the cemetery, the Basilica of Nuestra Senora del Pilar, one of the oldest churchs of the city, a sample of Spanish colonial architecture, is another important attraction four tourists .
